Rust Removal

They say that rust never sleeps

Well here at PressureWash we make it our mission, “to make it as hard for rust to exist as we can”.

Our system removes rust without any scrubbing, harsh acids or harmful effects to the environment.

This product is amazingly green-friendly. Free of damaging VOCs, solvents, acids and bases, and is non-corrosive, non-toxic, non-flammable, biodegradable, and sewerable.

The article is submerse in our tank for up to 24 hours, removed and rinsed to remove sludge and as the photo’s illustrates the rust has gone.

It is a unique blend of rust inhibitors to control corrosion on ALL metals. It eliminates moisture containing salt, dirt, and air pollutants from the surface of metal to give long lasting protection. It also lubricates moving parts and is an excellent penetrant even through existing rust. It does not harm painted surfaces (including CARC paint), plastics, rubber, glass, or wiring.

How it Works, for the more technical minded

We do not "convert" rust we remove it completely, through selective chelation. This is a process in which a large synthetic molecule forms a bond with metals and holds them in solution. Most chelating agents bind many different metals.

The active ingredient bonds to iron exclusively. It can remove iron from iron oxide but is too weak to remove iron from steel where the iron is held much more strongly. Once the chelating agent has removed the iron, a sulphur bearing organic molecule pulls the iron away from the chelator and forms a ferric sulphate complex which remains water soluble. This frees the chelating agent to remove more iron from rust.
